Allen, Texas (December 1, 2023) – The Dallas Sidekicks have announced the signing of former FC Dallas Homegrown and Guatemalan National Team player, Moises Hernandez, for the upcoming season. This will mark his first professional season in indoor soccer. Per team and league guidelines, additional terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Hernandez grew up in Seagoville, Texas, and played in the FC Dallas Academy from 2008-2010. On July 30, 2010, Hernandez signed a Homegrown player contract making him the club’s third Homegrown player. In 2012, FC Dallas loaned Hernandez to the Guatemalan club, Comunicaciones, and in 2013, he was loaned again to Deportivo Saprissa in Costa Rica.

Even though Hernandez was signed with FC Dallas, he did not make a first- team appearance until 2014, where he started as right-back. Between the 2014 and 2015 MLS seasons, Hernandez appeared in 33 games for FC Dallas including 2 playoff games.

In 2016, Hernandez was sent on a season long loan with Rayo OKC in the NASL. After the 2016 season, Hernandez was released from FC Dallas and returned to Comunicaciones for the 2017 season.

He made his return to FC Dallas in 2018 after former FC Dallas Head Coach Oscar Pareja was appointed. However, for most of the season he was on loan at San Antonio FC. After his time at San Antonio FC, Hernandez played in Guatemala with Antigua and Municipal. Most recently, Hernandez played with Miami FC in USL Championship.

Not only has Hernandez represented many clubs, but he has also represented the United States at the U-20 Level before making over 25 appearances with the Guatemalan National Team on the senior level. With the Guatemala National Team, Hernandez appeared in World Cup Qualifying matches, CONCACAF Gold Cup Matches, and international friendlies.

The Dallas Sidekicks have their first home game of the season on Saturday, December 9 at 7 PM at the Credit Union of Texas Event Center. Visit dallassidekicks.com/tickets to score your tickets today!
