Sidekicks Trade Mike Jones to Florida Tropics for VcMor Eligwe

Allen, TX (December 28, 2022)-  The Dallas Sidekicks have acquired forward and former Dallas Sidekicks player, VcMor Eligwe from the Florida Tropics in exchange for defender, Mike Jones, the team announced Wednesday. 

Eligwe started his MASL career with the Dallas Sidekicks in the 2015-2016 season. In his rookie year, Eligwe scored six goals in 16 games. 

Overall, Eligwe has played in six seasons in the MASL, three of which are with the Dallas Sidekicks. In 98 games, Eligwe has scored 78 goals and 25 assists.  This will be Eligwe’s seventh season in the MASL. 

Eligwe is a local native of the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex where he attended McKinney High School. He then went on to play collegiate soccer at Midwestern State University. At Midwestern, Eligwe appeared in 74 games and tallied 24 goals. 

Outside of indoor soccer, Eligwe has played professional outdoor soccer in the National Premier Soccer League with teams such as Fort Worth Vaqueros, Liverpool Warriors, Laredo Heat, and Midland Sockers. 

“We’re excited to have Eligwe back in Dallas. Even though he’s been gone for a couple of seasons, he is always family,” said Head Coach Ricardinho. 

When asked about what he brings to the team, Head Coach Ricardinho said, “He brings a lot of veteran experience to the team and will be a great asset for the younger guys on our team”.
